14.1.7 Intra-frequency Common E-RGCH RL Determination (FDD only)

For reception of E-RGCH from radio links other than the serving E-DCH radio link in CELL_FACH state, the UE shall:

1> if Equation 1 below is fulfilled for a primary CPICH of a cell to be evaluated for performing E-RGCH reception:

2> if the equation has been fulfilled for a time period indicated by "Time to trigger" equal to 0:

3> consider the radio link as a Common E-RGCH RL.

10∙LogM_New + CIO_New ≥ 10∙LogM_Best – R_1a-E-RGCH

The variables in the formula are defined as follows:

M_New is the CPICH Ec/N0 measurement result for the cell under evaluation for E-RGCH reception.

CIO_New is the individual cell offset for the cell under evaluation for E-RGCH reception, if an individual cell offset is provided in the system information for that cell. Otherwise it is equal to 0.

M_Best is the CPICH Ec/N0 measurement result for the serving E-DCH cell, not taking into account any cell individual offset.

R_1a-E-RGCH is the reporting range constant.

M_New and M_Best are expressed as ratios.
