The Global TFI (Temporary Flow Identity) information element contains either an uplink TFI or a downlink TFI. The uplink or downlink TFI identifies a single Temporary Block Flow.

UPLINK_TFI (5 bit field) This field identifies an uplink TBF. This field is coded the same as the TFI field defined in sub-clause 12.15. DOWNLINK_TFI (5 bit field) This field identifies a downlink TBF. This field is coded the same as the TFI field defined in sub-clause 12.15.
