24 DPCCH2 transmission (FDD only)
25.3083GPPHigh Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA)Overall descriptionRelease 17Stage 2TS
In CELL_DCH state, DPCCH2 transmission is characterized by the introduction of a secondary uplink pilot (DPCCH2). The DPCCH2 is used in the serving HS-DSCH cell as the reference for the HS-DPCCH(s) channel power. Additionally, when DPCCH2 is configured there is one and only one uplink DPCCH2 for all radio links.
When the UE is configured with DPCCH2 transmission, the following are applicable:
– Power control of uplink DPCCH:
– When F-DPCH is configured in a cell, the RNC chooses and signals to the UE a designated non-serving HS-DSCH cell to be used for downlink quality monitoring. The UE determines the TPC commands to transmit on the uplink DPCCH by monitoring the F-DPCH quality from this cell. When Serving E-DCH cell decoupling is configured, the designated non-serving HS-DSCH cell is the same as the serving E-DCH cell.
– Power control of DPCCH2:
– An additional F-DPCH channel is introduced to transmit the uplink TPC bits for DPCCH2 from the serving HS-DSCH cell. The TPC bits on DPCCH2 carry the DL power control commands for this additional F-DPCH channel transmitted from the serving HS-DSCH cell.
– The non-serving cell(s) could also benefit from knowing that the DPCCH2 is configured.
