5.11A VisitedNetworkPreference

24.3123GPPAccess Network Discovery and Selection Function (ANDSF) Management Object (MO)Release 17TS

5.11A.1 ANDSF/VisitedNetworkPreference

The VisitedNetworkPreferences node acts as a placeholder for Visited Network Preference information.

– Occurrence: ZeroOrOne

– Format: node

– Access Types: Get, Replace

– Values: N/A

5.11A.2 ANDSF/VisitedNetworkPreference/EquivalentVisitedSPs

The EquivalentVisitedSPs acts as a placeholder for home realms (see IETF RFC 4282 [25]) corresponding to service providers that are equivalent to the V-PLMN over WLAN.

– Occurrence: ZeroOrOne

– Format: node

– Access Types: Get, Replace

– Values: N/A

If EquivalentVisitedSPs node is not present or the node is present and empty, the UE will not evaluate the node.

5.11A.3 ANDSF/VisitedNetworkPreference/EquivalentVisitedSPs/<X>

This interior node acts as a placeholder for one or more home realms corresponding to service providers that are equivalent to the V-PLMN over WLAN.

– Occurrence: OneOrMore

– Format: node

– Access Types: Get, Replace

– Values: N/A

5.11A.4 ANDSF/VisitedNetworkPreference/EquivalentVisitedSPs/
<X>/ServiceProvider

The ServiceProvider leaf identifies the realm of a service provider that is equivalent to the V-PLMN over WLAN.

– Occurrence: One

– Format: chr

– Access Types: Get, Replace

– Values: <service provider realm>

The ServiceProvider contains a FQDN (see IETF RFC 1035 [20]) and is a realm:

a) as specified in 3GPP TS 23.003 [3], subclause 19.2; or

b) in the form of an FQDN as defined by IETF RFC 4282 [25].

5.11A.5 ANDSF/VisitedNetworkPreference/PLMN

The PLMN leaf indicates a PLMN code of the operator, which created this policy.

– Occurrence: One

– Format: chr

– Access Types: Get, Replace

– Values: <PLMN>

The format of the PLMN is defined by 3GPP TS 23.003 [3].

When evaluating the PLMN leaf the following applies:

– if the UE is roaming in a VPLMN and the value contained in this leaf is equal to that VPLMN (or an equivalent PLMN of that VPLMN), the VisitedNetworkPreference rule is valid;

– if the UE is roaming in a VPLMN and the value contained in this leaf is not equal to that VPLMN nor an equivalent PLMN of that VPLMN, then the VisitedNetworkPreference rule is ignored.

5.11A.6 ANDSF/VisitedNetworkPreference/UpdatePolicy

The UpdatePolicy leaf indicates the update policy for the VisitedNetworkPreference.

– Occurrence: ZeroOrOne

– Format: bool

– Access Types: Get, Replace

– Values: 0, 1

0 Indicates that the UE is not required to request an update of the rules.

1 Indicates that the UE is required to request an update of the rules.

The UpdatePolicy value may be used by the UE to determine whether or not to request an update of its VisitedNetworkPreference when the rule is no longer considered to be valid by the UE.

The default value 0 applies if this leaf is not provisioned.
